I didn’t get to see Johnny Cash before he died.

I didn’t get to see George Carlin before he died.

I WILL SEE LEONARD COHEN on April 13th in Oakland. Who’s coming with?

Oh hay Fox & Autumn (and Lefty, if you’re around) – let’s have some lunch or something while I’m in the bay area!

Nerd

I have NEVER been this excited about a movie in my life.

Wesley Crusher Wil Wheaton got to see it and posted a review!

The lights went down, the film began, and after just a few minutes, my apprehension was gone. I knew after the Comedian hit the street that this was going to be everything I’d hoped for. For the next two hours and forty-five minutes, I gasped, I cheered, I applauded, I was stunned and I was blown away. Most importantly, though, I was transported to the world I first visited, one issue at a time, when I was a teenager. When it was over, I wanted to go right back to the beginning and start over again, just like I did when I finished the graphic novel back in the 80s.

Here’s the whole review on his blog.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG

God damn internets.

Posted in Nerd, Personal Updates on February 14th, 2009

Okay, there is just too much internets in my life.

I got the twitter and that’s crack. I need to find an app that sends all my tweets to my blog daily as one entry. I know they have it for LJ, but dunno about WP.

I’ve had the LJ forever and ever and ever. In fact, the RSS feed from this blog is syndicated on the LJ and that’s how my friends list gets my updates. Wheeeee! Oh hell, I always forget that I actually met Rick over the LJ too. And that will be 6 motherfuckin’ years together on Tuesday!

I went and got the myspace and that’s good for keeping up with all my old highschool friends & some Tulsa folks. I don’t think a few of them can figure out much about the internets beyond the myspace, honestly. I really don’t do all the silly games and “buy your friends” shit though. Ugh.

I got the facebook and just ignored it until I found out my favorite radio personalities are on the facebook, so I added them and then my sister & her friends from Deeetroit got on it and I actually wrote some shit there and… yeeeah. you get it.

I have a linkedin for professional stuff.

I think I also have a vox and a couple of other ones somewhere. I believe I tried to get “xenobia” on all the upstart LJ clones at one time.

(And I don’t even want to THINK about getting the dot com and vaginadentata sites up for the art & kinky stuff. I’m having just enough fun procrastinating on those thankyouverymuch.)

So… the question is:

HOW DOES ONE GO ABOUT BALANCING THEIR INTERNETS?

I think getting the twitter to go to the blog will be a first step. That will keep actual kinda sorta content on the blog.

I’ve technically stopped writing on the LJ, just use it to read all my communities and feeds. Feed reading on the LJ FTW! I guess the facebook and the myspace will just have to suffer. LOL.

I’m sure I’ll sort it all out eventually.

This rambling has been brought to you by the letter coffee and the number new Friday the 13th movie, wherein Jason is only trying to protect his weed.

Lux post

The last time I saw the Cramps was 5/23/03 in Tulsa.

Here are some of the photos I took with the crappy old Mavica:

This is one of my most cherished photos, even though I’m all OMG FAT:

For someone so evil on stage, he was the most soft-spoken, genuinely nice guy.
And, of course, the best thing about seeing the Cramps was sharing it with your friends:

Lux died today.
:(

I’m glad I got to see them in concert so many times and actually had the chance to meet him. He was the consummate showman and one of my favorite performers of all time and will be missed.
